Lincolnshire Tea is 100% Compostable!

Lincolnshire Tea 100% compostable paper tea bags are now available in both the original ‘Breakfast Style’ blend and a new Earl Grey paper bag version too.

As a company we have been looking at ways in which we can reduce ‘single use plastics’ and converting all Lincolnshire Tea products is something we have been working on for some time. After much research, sampling and testing, we are proud to launch the new tea bags which are fully biodegradable when correctly composted (please contact us if you would like further guidance). Even the packaging the tea bags are wrapped in is 100% biodegradable and the box is recyclable too. We are really proud of this achievement and plan to convert all our own tea bags to compostable ones this year.

The tea, which was officially launched in January 2018, has already won Great Taste Awards and was also the only tea to be recognised in the Great British Food Awards last year after being recognised as a ‘Lovely tea with full flavour’.

In an industry where many tea bags are only around 70-80% compostable and companies are trying to move away from the traditional non-compostable bags, we are proud of this achievement. We are very environmentally conscious and are doing what we can to improve all the time. This means that the full range of Lincolnshire Tea is 100% compostable from our silky pyramid bags, paper bags to loose leaf tea.
