There’s nothing quite like a cup of your favourite brew – a fact that has enabled The Lincoln Tea and Coffee Company turn a passion into a successful business.

Like many people co-founder Susie Carlisle loves the smell of fresh coffee filling her home and the familiar routine of making a loose leaf cup of tea. She decided to share that passion and, with husband John, set up the company three years ago with a focus on quality and service.

Coffees come from around the globe and are roasted in Lincolnshire while their own range of teas are packaged and shipped straight from a Fair Trade estate in Sri Lanka.

“The original idea was to supply to the end users, but we quickly received commercial enquiries so the business has grown very organically,” said Susie.

The company’s fresh approach has meant that growth has been dramatic with a 300 per cent increase in sales in the last year. Not only does the Lincoln Tea and Coffee Company focus on what its clients want, but also what its customers’ customers want.

“We constantly strive for 100 per cent customer satisfaction for both our products and customer service,” explained Susie.

That now means supplying everything from the coffees and teas, through to specialist machines complete with servicing and maintenance and even the barista training for staff.

“Our partnership with Bailgate Deli is a good example of how we love to work with businesses. Supplying the La Spaziale espresso machine with servicing back-up, support and training. We supply their espresso beans and a fine selection of teas. Supporting the customer during set-up and opening and building long term relationships.”

The company’s ethos earned it Wholesaler of the Year at the Select, Lincolnshire Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards 2016 and it has just supplied the fresh coffee for a Salvation Army’s Christmas lunch free for the third year running.
