Lincolnshire Tea Celebrates National Tea Day

Despite us celebrating tea day every day, the official day for celebration is National Tea Day on the 21st April.

It feels like tea has been around since before the dinosaurs, alright not quite that long, but we can’t imagine life without it.

What is National Tea Day?

National Tea Day is a celebration of tea and a gathering of all tea lovers. The nation par-teas through sharing the special moment together by sipping the nation’s much-loved drink. Brits are said to drink a staggering 165 million cups of tea a day, so it is only fair that the nation dedicates a day to all tea lovers out there.  This year the Fes-Tea-Val is taking place at Chiswick House & Gardens to celebrate National Tea Day.

Wondering how to join in with the par-tea?

It is simple, drink tea! Why not even visit us at Pennells Food Court, Lincoln? Lincolnshire Tea is stocked in the Pennells Food Court, but on Saturday 21st April 10:30-15:30 we will be there in person for tea tasting. If this isn’t your cup of tea, why not put the kettle on, bring out your favourite teapot or cup, give yourself a bit of Tea, L, C and have a moment of appreciation for the nation’s much-loved drink. Even better, your county’s brew, Lincolnshire Tea.

“Thank God for tea! What would the world do without tea? How did it exist? I am glad I was not born before tea.”

Sydney Smith, English writer and clergyman, Lady Holland’s Memoir

Wait…there was a time that we didn’t have tea? What is the history of tea we hear you ask?

The origins of tea are thought to have formed in medicine back in the 3rd Century AD. Nowadays, although not strictly medicinal, many turn to tea in their time of need. Tea is thought to have become popular in the 17th Century to our re-leaf. Fast forward to today where tea is celebrated annually with National Tea Day and daily at The Lincoln Tea & Coffee Company.

No one teas the same so why would the tea bags be?

The beau-tea of tea is that it comes in so many different forms. We understand that people have different preferences on how to enjoy their tea. That is why Lincolnshire Tea comes in tea bags, loose leaf and pyramid bags, we understand no one teas the same.

Are you a frequent tea drinker? Do you have a tea o’clock or does tea come out for special occasions? Whichever you are, make sure that you raise your cup to celebrate National Tea Day on Saturday 21st April.
