An attractive wiry leaf style characteristic of great Ceylon Orange Pekoe grade teas.
Recyclable Packaging.

Description

This is a delicate, high-grown black tea from Sri Lanka, a lovely whole leaf tea which is light and refreshing with hints of caramel and malt. An attractive wiry leaf, characteristic of great Ceylon Orange Pekoe OP1 grade tea and the high quality it represents. We would advise to drink this tea black; it can also be enjoyed with a dash of milk if brewed a little stronger.

We are often asked if Orange Pekoe has an orange flavour or has anything to do with the orange fruit. The simple answer is no, it is a grading of tea. Black tea grown on Camelia sinensis (tea) is graded according to its quality. The highest grades for Western and South Asian teas are referred to as Whole leaf Orange Pekoe.

This tea is an OP1. A higher grade and more delicate than OP with a long, wiry leaf producing a light liquor. Rather a robust tea, it can also make a stronger drink with a longer infusion time. A lovely all day tea.
